What Services Do You Offer For Other Publishers?

The main services we are offering to other publishers and those wishing to publish their own work are as follows:

For further information on publishing services, drop services@unseenwords.com an email.

Will You Publish My Book?

The honest answer is 'maybe'.

Firstly, the topic of the book has to fit in with the rest of our titles, and our general philosophy. It needs to be an erotic story; we're very open to the genders, sexualities and interests of the characters, although it has to be legal and consensual.

Secondly, it has to be up to the standards we expect from ourselves. We will, of course, work with you on meeting those standards; this doesn't mean we'll rewrite your story, but we'll check for spelling and typing errors, inconsistency, and flat out physical impossibility. In fact we're happy to help in what ever way we can to make your stories hotter and more compelling to read.

How Much Do You Pay For A Book?

We don't pay an advance on sales, instead we just split the profits with you.

We publish electronically through Amazon and Lulu, and use Lulu for Print-On-Demand. This means that every time a book is sold, they take their cut before we see anything. Depending on which service it is, and the size and retail cost of the book, this can vary between 20% and 65%.

We will split what's left with you, depending on how many books have been sold.
For the first 100 books you'll get 10% of what comes in to us, the next 250 you'll get 25%, and after 350 books you get 50%. If we work with you on multiple books, we'll use the total sales when working out the percentages.

How much you actually make depends on the retail price of the book, and unfortunately Amazon and Lulu only pay us when sales hit a certain amount, so there's going to be a small wait before the money starts coming in.

If you don't like the sound of that, maybe you'll want to just get us to convert the book to the right formats, and publish it yourself. See our Services for Publishers and Self-Publishers above.

Can I Contribute To One Of Your Collections?

The answer to this one is also 'maybe'.

We will accept short stories for inclusion in a future collection if they are a good fit with the subject, and they are fun, hot, and interesting, in much the same way as we'll decide on whether to publish a book.

How Much Do You Pay For A Short Story?

This works very much like payment for a book above, but you'll get a smaller amount, depending on how many other authors are in the collection, and how much of the collection is your story.

As an example, if the collection includes 4 stories from different authors, and all the stories are about the same length, then the authors will all get 25% of their usual rate. If there are 3 authors, but one story is the length of the other two together, then that author will get 50% of their rate, and the other authors will get 25% of theirs.

Can I Link To Your Website? Will You Link To My Site?

Well, we can't really stop you linking to us, that's the way the World-Wide Web works.

We're delighted to have people add a link to our site, but would prefer that it's to the front page http://www.unseenwords.com/ so that it will work if we change things around. If you want an image for the link, please grab a copy of:

If you'd like us to link to you, drop us an email at links@unseenwords.com and let us know. If we think your site is a good match, we'll be happy to link to you.
If you have an image for us to use, we prefer something up to 150 pixels wide to match the width of the blog column that links get displayed in. We can work with other sizes as well of course.
